Rockland County Comprehensive Development Plan

Rockland County, New York

BFJ worked with the Rockland County Legislature and Planning Department to prepare a comprehensive plan addressing interrelated land use, environmental, socioeconomic, infrastructure and transportation issues. The Plan identified land-use and zoning conflicts among municipalities that should be addressed to enhance the functioning of municipal zoning regulations, created a framework for future capital expenditures by County government, outlined land use policies and made recommendations for policy implementation.

The Plan emphasized preserving residential areas and open space, enhancing amenities for residents and visitors, encouraging energy efficiency and promoting an integrated transportation infrastructure. The plan received the 2012 Comprehensive Plan Award from the New York Planning Federation.
