City of Yonkers Environmental Services

Yonkers, New York

BFJ has performed numerous environmental reviews on behalf of the City of Yonkers as well as for private sector clients for project located within the city. These projects include:

  • NEPA Environmental Impact Statement for the Ashburton Avenue Master Plan and Urban Renewal Plan
  • NEPA Environmental Assessments for the Yonkers Affordable Housing project
  • Environmental reviews for the new Yonkers Ferry Station and the Saw Mill River Daylighting and Restoration project at Larkin Plaza
  • SEQR review of the expansion of the South Westchester Executive Park
  • SEQR review of the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center

BFJ also undertook the environmental analyses for the proposed rezoning of the city’s 192-acre downtown area, which would replace ten existing zoning districts with five districts, integrating mixed use residential and commercial development and preserving residential and light industrial areas. This rezoning also included updated parking and signage requirements as well as a new Green Building Code.
